Founded in 2012, Carlsbad Tax is a client-focused tax and accounting firm built on expertise, precision, and trust. The firm is led by Sean Edward Currey, an accomplished tax professional with a Bachelor’s degree in accounting and dual credentials as an Enrolled Agent (EA) and Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
Sean earned the Enrolled Agent designation by passing a series of rigorous IRS examinations covering individual and business taxation, trusts, estates, nonprofit organizations, and ethics, along with extensive background and compliance checks. As an EA, he has unrestricted practice rights, allowing him to represent clients before any office of the Internal Revenue Service and at the state level, including the Franchise Tax Board.

In August 2024, Sean further expanded his expertise by becoming a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), strengthening his ability to provide comprehensive tax planning, compliance, and representation services.

Known for his exceptional attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work, Sean has extensive experience collaborating with Enrolled Agents, CPAs, and Attorneys to address complex tax matters. Accounting runs deep in his family—both his mother and uncle are CPAs with accounting degrees—reinforcing a lifelong foundation in the profession.

Founder of Carlsbad Tax, Sean Currey has over 14 years of experience in tax preparation, planning, and IRS and FTB representation. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in accounting and is both a Certified Public Accountant and an Enrolled Agent. Known for his attention to detail and client-focused approach, Sean provides trusted guidance on individual, business, and trust matters.
Rosie Currey
Office Manager/Client Relations
Rosie Currey has supported Carlsbad Tax behind the scenes since nearly its inception and has been a full-time member of the team for several years. She brings extensive experience from both the real estate and legal fields, having served as an office manager for top-producing agents and as a paralegal for many years. Rosie is also highly skilled in marketing and social media and is known for her excellent customer service, helping ensure a positive and seamless experience for clients.
